History Pockets-The American Civil War, Grades 4 - 6, contains seven discovery pockets.

Students become actively engaged in learning about this important part of history while they create portfolios for assessment and display.

The teacher pages feature step-by-step project directions and photographs of the completed projects. Students store their projects in easy-to-make construction paper pockets.

Each of the pockets contains:

• a fact sheet of background information for the teacher
• a reproducible students information booklet complete with illustrations

• reading and writing activities
