We are currently hiring for:

Director, Brand Management

The Brand Management Director is responsible for strategy and execution to drive growth of a portfolio of brands from ideation through discontinuation. This role is the hub of a cross-functional network of stakeholders and strong communication and collaboration along with a balance of analytical and creative skills. Additionally, this role will require heavy external partner management, including licensors, licensees, retail buyers, and agencies. As we continue to sharpen our product and marketing focus to our multiple consumer segments, the brand direction will contribute best practices in product development, consumer insights, and analysis/reporting.

 Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Consumer/Market Insights
    • Leverage multiple data sources to deliver actionable consumer, market, and competitive insights on a regular basis.
    • Synthesize feedback from internal and external stakeholders to inform day-to-day and long-range brand decisions.
    • Understand and articulate research objectives and recommend/review multiple paths to garnering insights.
  • Cross-Functional Communication and Leadership
    • Act as the brand expert and source of holistic brand and product information.
    • Lead product development process from ideation through go-to-market planning.
    • Develop and deliver engaging brand strategy and product pitch decks, and communicate externally on a regular basis.
    • Build thorough product and marketing briefs on which PD, Editorial, and Marketing teams can execute.
    • Provide specific, strategy-led creative feedback.
    • Author and send monthly brand reports.
    • Willingness to train others in brand-centered thinking and process.
  • Analytics
    • Analyze internal financial and POS data from multiple sources to arrive at data-driven product recommendations, including SKU justification and rationalization.
    • Forecast new and existing items on a regular basis.
    • Budget and track product development costs in collaboration with editorial and design teams.
  • Licensing
    • Understand all terms and parameters of existing licensing relationships.
    • Conduct regular meetings with licensors and licensees as needed.
    • Submit forecasts and approvals through multiple licensor approval systems.
    • Maintain entertainment calendar.
    • Build strong and strategic relationships with all licensing partners.
  • Creativity
    • Contribute opportunities for CDE that are data-driven, yet unique and differentiated from our competition and our history.
    • Maintain a relentless focus on the consumer—whether parent, teacher, librarian, or child. Bring this perspective to every decision.

Education, Experience, and Abilities:

  • MBA or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of related experience, CPG or children’s product background preferred.
  • Licensing experience required, K–12 education experience a plus.
  • Naturally curious, team-oriented, and solution-focused.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently with little supervision.

Digital Marketing Manager

We are seeking a Digital Marketing Manager to join our eCommerce team. In this critical role, you will be accountable for delivering on revenue and ROI goals for our digital marketing channels, and for the implementation and delivery of organic search programs including successfully planning, executing, and analyzing SEO strategies.

Detail-oriented and creative, you are a digital native and love to measure how you are impacting the business. A creative problem solver, you always have a plan to get the business back on track. You have the drive to conceptualize, plan, and execute online advertising and lead-generation strategies and tactics, including promotions, content, and sweepstakes, to continuously improve digital traffic relevancy and optimize the customer experience and conversion on the ecommerce website.

 Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Paid Marketing
    • Manage, plan, and execute paid digital marketing activities, including but not limited to SEM (PPC, product listing ads, etc.), affiliate programs, display ads, retargeting ads, and social ads, working collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
    • Execute and test digital marketing advertising strategies by collaborating with internal departments and external vendors to ensure website efforts are positioned to achieve optimal sales, ROI, and branding objectives.
    • Suggest, plan, and implement digital marketing promotional advertisements for affiliate and consumer retargeting.
    • Analyze and report on all digital marketing traffic, conversion, and other KPIs.
    • Manage advertising and paid search budgets.
    • Manage agency partners.
  • SEO
    • Manage SEO efforts, working cross-functionally to develop content strategy and translate business goals into SEO strategy.
    • Analyze and review internal and external search trends to optimize and inform search tactics and conversion.
    • Perform technical SEO audits and META data updates (Title Tags, META Descriptions, Heading, and ALT tags).
    • Work with editorial and marketing teams to drive SEO in content creation and content programming.
    • Track and measure results for organic search and content performance, analyze the success of campaigns, and report key learnings.
  • Digital Channel Optimization
    • Work closely with the eCommerce Manager to review site-level digital marketing performance and make recommendations and adjustments to site.
    • Brainstorm new and creative growth strategies to plan, execute, and measure experiments and conversion tests.
    • Partner with the Customer Engagement Manager to create consistent brand messaging and drive consumer interest, engagement, and loyalty.

Qualifications:

  • BA, BS, or equivalent experience required.
  • Must have 3+ years of experience in search engine marketing and search engine optimization.
  • Google AdWords Certification required.
  • Must have 3+ years of experience in Google Analytics, Google Certification a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
  • Excellent analytical skills with experience using data to make decisions required.
  • Strong ability to approach marketing from a customer's perspective, acting as an advocate for the customer and working across disciplines to drive the best customer experience solution.
  • Strong collaboration skills with an understanding of how to manage communications among a diverse cross-functional team.
  • Able to quickly develop good working product and audience knowledge.
  • Expert-level knowledge about site metrics.
  • A passion for consumer-focused ecommerce.
  • Ability to manage own time accurately and effectively.
  • Intellectual curiosity with ability to see the conceptual "big picture" for the company.
  • Demonstrate a high level of initiative and resourcefulness.

Customer Service Representative

The Customer Service Representative performs assigned duties including the timely, efficient and accurate processing of orders. Individuals in this position are responsible for representing the company in the most professional manner possible while utilizing excellent, in-depth knowledge of company products.

 Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Answer phone calls and process customer requests
  • Remain knowledgeable on all company products and promotions
  • Fax and email invoices
  • Enter employee orders and credit memos on SharePoint portal
  • Complete Return Authorizations
  • Assist customers with web-based orders
  • Attend and participate in product or process-improvement training
  • Sort and supply account numbers to faxed orders
  • Set up and mange new school accounts
  • Communicate effectively with customers both in writing and orally
  • Answer webchats as needed
  • Manage outbound promotional sales calls for assigned accounts
  • Flexibility, as job may require overtime and flexible work shifts
  • Other duties as requested, directed, or assigned

Education, Experience, and Abilities:

  • High school diploma plus 1–2 years specialized training
  • 1–2 years of related experience
  • Professional demeanor and business experience
  • Proficiency in client service with the ability to develop and maintain good relationships with internal and external clients
  • Knowledge of administrative support, activities, and office routines

Pick/Pack Associate in Greensboro, NC

The Pick/Pack Associate performs the warehouse duties associated with picking and packing the company’s products in an accurate and timely manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow daily schedule set by the production planner
    • Accurately, neatly, and efficiently pick and pack customer orders
  • Meet established efficiency goals and department standards
  • Remain knowledgeable of Added Value Service requirements
  • Remain knowledgeable of E-WMS and ERP systems
    • Inventory part numbers
    • Layout of the warehouse and pick zones
  • Communication with lead(s) on a daily basis
  • Position may require flexibility to change positions as needed and may require overtime and/or flexible work shifts

Education, Experience, and Abilities:

  • Equivalent to a high school diploma
  • Up to 3 months of related experience
  • Competence in the operation of office and warehouse equipment

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand, and operate computers and other company hardware and software
  • Frequent light to moderate physical effort required; ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Manual dexterity
