This resource is a collection of 8-page social studies-themed mini-books that young learners put together, color, and learn to read. The text is typical of emergent readers with characteristic brief sentences and repeated vocabulary, some based on rhythm and/or rhyme. The book pages are half-page sized for easier handling for the young learner. Also included are several pages of teacher tips for using the readers in the classroom and for at-home connections and a comprehensive vocabulary list.
