What Carson-Dellosa products
are correlated to state, national, and Canadian provincial standards?
Currently, all the books in our top-selling Skills for Success
series through the BTS 2006 product release as well as all books in our new
G.A.M.E.S. series are correlated. We will correlate future books in
both of these series and, based on customer input, may add other series or individual
products in the future.
What specific
standards are Carson-Dellosa products correlated to?
Our products are correlated to the standards for 49 of the 50 United States (one
state, Iowa, does not currently have state standards), national standards in 7 subject
areas, standards for 6 Canadian Provinces, plus Core Knowledge, NAEP, New York City
Public Schools, and U.S. Department of Defense Education Agency standards.
How do books
correlated to standards benefit me and my students?
In most states and Canadian provinces, the state or provincial standards outline
what teachers in those areas are required to teach. With Carson-Dellosa’s correlated
products, you can see a page-by-page breakdown of what specific standards each product
supports. With these correlations, you can show administrators how the products
you use support your standards.
How does
Carson-Dellosa correlate its products?
We work with an outside organization that specializes in doing standards correlations.
Their team of subject matter experts, all former teachers, examines each activity
in each product and correlates that activity to a wide range of educational standards.
The correlations are then double-checked to ensure their accuracy.
Are Carson-Dellosa’s
correlations kept up-to-date? Standards are updated quite frequently.
The organization we work with to correlate our products is committed to keeping
our correlations up-to-date. When a state or organization approves changes to their
standards, our correlations will be updated within 45 days of that approval.
What grade
levels are your correlations available for?
Since we know teachers have students who work at a variety of levels, we have correlated
each product not only to include the grade levels indicated on its cover or packaging,
but also one or two grade levels above and below its stated grade range. This makes
our correlations more inclusive. So, you may see correlations to Kindergarten standards
on a product labeled Grades 1-2, or correlations to 5th grade standards on a product
labeled Grades 3-4.
How do I
do a correlations search?
From the correlations search homepage, you can select from two different types of
searches to perform:
The first search produces a shopping list of products for a particular standard,
subject area, and grade range. To do this search, click on the link Search for
correlated products by state/province.
Then, use the drop-down menus to select the state, province, or standard type, the
subject area, and the grade level you would like to search. The subject area and
grade level selections are optional but using them will produce a smaller list of
products targeted to the specific grade level and subject area you are looking for.
You can also use the keyword field to further narrow your search. After making your
selections, hit the Submit Search button.
The resulting list shows all correlated products that meet your criteria. From the
results page, you can download a PDF shopping list, add items to your shopping cart,
or view correlations for individual products.
The second search produces a report with correlations for an individual product.
To do this search, click on the link Search for individual product correlations.
Enter the product’s four- or six-digit product number or use the Find Product
link to look up products and product numbers according to keyword. Then, use the
drop-down menus to select the State/Province/Standard Type and the grade level you
want to see correlations for. The grade level selection is optional, but since these
correlations documents can be quite long, selecting a grade level will help focus
the document. After making your selections, hit the Submit Search
button.
The resulting document shows information on the product and the correlations for
the product that meet your criteria. From the results page, you can download a PDF
of the correlation or add the item to your shopping cart.
I tried to
select a subject area on the Search for correlated products by state/province,
but my search results came up with all subject areas. How can I correct this?
When you select the State/Province/Standard Type for your search, the subject areas
available adjust according to the subject areas we have for the state you select.
This adjustment causes a delay in the subject areas coming up. Just do your search
again, waiting until the adjustment is finished to select your subject area (you
can tell the adjustment is finished when your browser shows it is no longer searching
or running.)
How do I
add a correlated product to my shopping cart?
From the results page for a Search for correlated products by state/province
-search, enter the quantity in the box in the far right column of the report and
click the Add To Cart button.
From the results page for a Search for individual product correlations, enter the
quantity you want to add to your cart and click the Add Item To Cart button.
How do I
download a PDF of my shopping list or correlations report?
To download and open a PDF, you will need a copy of Adobe Acrobat Reader on your
computer.
From either of the search results pages, click on the Download PDF
button to download and open a PDF of your results.
